Birth: Jack is the ruler of Halloween Town. He is not the average hero; he is not of humble character. He is a celebrated figure, but he feels a longing for something unknown to him.
Discovery: Jack wanders through the woods, and stumbles upon a clearing of doors. Jack approaches a door shaped as a Christmas tree and enters it, discovering Christmas Town and all of its treasures.
Quest: Jack's mission is to make his own Christmas. First, he must find a way to get rid of Santa Claus, so he rounds up Lock, Shock, and Barrel to kidnap Santa. Unfortunately, they deliver him to Oogie Boogie, which means a sure death for Santa. Meanwhile, everyone in Halloween town contributes in making everything necessary for a successful Halloween Town Christmas. Jack carries out his plans and delivers his gifts to the children, but there is a problem; The toys scare the children and Jack's sleigh is shot down by a missile. Jack failed his mission, but then he remembers to save Santa, and he gets there in the nick of time. s
Romance: Jack's romantic interest in this movie is Sally, a close friend. Sally foresees Jack's disastrous Christmas, but he did not heed her warnings. Jack does not realize his romantic relationship with Sally until the end of the movie, although Sally has always pined for him.
The Journey Home: Jack saves Santa, and Santa saves Christmas before it was completely ruined. When Jack goes back to Halloween Town, everyone celebrates his safe return. Then Jack realizes that he has loved Sally all along and they live happily ever after.
