Direct Quote: "The war in Darfur has led to what the U.N. has called the 'world's worst humaintarion crisis.' Over the past year, the conflict has spread into Chad, and hundreds of thousounds of Chadians have become refugees in their own country" (Polgreen, 19).
Paraphrase: The Darfur conflict has become an issue that is extremely problematic to not only Darfur, itself, but the world. It is spreading and causing people in other countries to become trapped in a war that is not their own (Polgreen, 19).

Julius Caesar: Acts Four and Five
List one theme which is illustrated in the play Julius Caesar. Explain how this theme is supported with specific examples. Your theme should be in sentence format
A cause may seem noble at first, but eventually, one will realize, that their cause was, in the end, useless. Brutus first realizes this when he as at war with Antony and Octavius. He says, "The enemy increaseth every day;/ We, at the height, are ready to decline." Here Brutus knows that things can only go down hill. It is very likely that his small army will be wiped out by Antony and Octavius. The surrounding people are keeping peace, but would likely join the other army if presented the chance. Brutus also knows that all of their work was for nothings when he says, "Caesar now be still./I killed not thee with half so good a will" right before he committed suicide. Brutus knew that his was a lost cause and committed suicide because he had hit rock bottom.

Julius Caesar: Act Three
Analyze Antony’s monologue to the people at the funeral. Is his argument a logical one? How does he appeal to the emotions? In your opinion, do you believe the speech is effective? Explain with specific examples!!
I believe that Antony's speech was extremely logical and effective. He used Brutus' words of Caesar's "ambition" against him. He says, "He hath brought many captives home to Rome/Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill./Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?" Antony told of how Caesar brought success to Rome, and then requires the crowd to ask themselves if Caesar was the definition of ambition. Another example he presented was, "When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept;/Ambition should be made of sterner stuff." This showed the public that Caesar had a gentle side and that he cared for his people. This made the crowd realize that Caesar was not ambitious and it pulled on their heart strings. Since Antony proved that Brutus had wrongly accused Caesar of ambition, the crowd took Antony's side and agreed with him instead.

Julius Caesar: Act Two
If you had to give advice to Brutus to join the conspiracy, what would you tell him? Provide support from the story with your reasoning
If I had to advise Brutus to join the conspiracy, I would tell him to think of his children and his people. Would he want his family to live in a land where tyrants rule? I think not! He himself said, "But 'tis a common proof that lowliness is young ambition's ladder, whereto the climber upward turns his face; but when he attains the upmost round, he then unto the ladder turn his back, looks in the clouds, scorning the base degrees." This is a description of Caesar and how he would look down upon the Roman people and eventually treat them unkindly. It was necessary to bring Caesar down before the damage was irreversible.

Julius Caesar: Act One
Provide your opinion on Cassius at this point in the play. Do you think he has good intentions? Why or why not?
At this point in time, Cassius intentions seem somewhat unclear. It seems that his intentions are rather unpure of heart. When talking to Brutus, Cassius seemed to be jealous of Caesar, and therefore, despise him. Also he talked of "shaking" Caesar. It appears to me that his intentions are not good at this point in time.
