List one theme which is illustrated in the play Julius Caesar. Explain how this theme is supported with specific examples. Your theme should be in sentence format
A cause may seem noble at first, but eventually, one will realize, that their cause was, in the end, useless. Brutus first realizes this when he as at war with Antony and Octavius. He says, "The enemy increaseth every day;/ We, at the height, are ready to decline." Here Brutus knows that things can only go down hill. It is very likely that his small army will be wiped out by Antony and Octavius. The surrounding people are keeping peace, but would likely join the other army if presented the chance. Brutus also knows that all of their work was for nothings when he says, "Caesar now be still./I killed not thee with half so good a will" right before he committed suicide. Brutus knew that his was a lost cause and committed suicide because he had hit rock bottom.
